Norman E. “Red” Cutter, age 78, of Dillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Oct 30, 2013 at Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati. Red was born on December 4, 1934
in Dillsboro to John Cutter and Irene Arn Cutter. Following high school, he joined the US Army and served in 2 enlistments for a total of 8 years
serving his country. He was employed for many years as a carpenter in the Indiana Carpenters Union, working for Southern Marine Construction. On June
25, 1960 he was married to Charlene White, who passed away in 1987. Red was a loyal member of the Dillsboro American Legion Post #292 and enjoyed
spending time at the post with his many friends there. His grandchildren were very special to him, and he loved fishing and hunting with them and with
his buddies. Red was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and his grandson, Jesse Paul Cutter. He is survived by 3 step sons,
Willie and Eddie (Veronica) Coy, of Bear Branch, and Robert Coy, of Fairview; 4 sons, Paul (Barb) Cutter, of Rising Sun, Douglas (Diana) Cutter, of
Dillsboro, James (Julie) Cutter, of Rising Sun, and Mark (Heather) Cutter, of Bear Branch; 25 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 brother,
Gary Ray (Carol) Cutter, of Hebron, KY; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Red will be Monday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at DeVries
Funeral Home in Dillsboro, with his friend, Pastor Tom Fehrman officiating. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery with full military rites provided by
Dillsboro American Legion Post 292. Friends may meet his family at DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro on Sunday from 4 to 7pm. Memorials may be given to
the donors choice.
